| Brief history of what you’ve done since you left college: They called me the decade man because it took me from 1966 to 1973 to graduate. I left college in 1969 to join the Arkansas National Guard and was out of school for 2 years. I came back in 1971, met my wife Juanita who was a UCA cheerleader for 3 years and homecoming maid of honor nominated by our fraternity. I started to work for Ford Credit two weeks after graduation and remained with them for 34 years until I decided to retire Oct, 2007. I worked in Little Rock, Detroit, Dothan, Al., Birmingham, Al. finishing up in Atlanta. The office I managed in Birmingham won Edsel Ford's President's Award the first 5 years it was given and was the only office in the world to accomplish this from a three peat to a 5 time winner. I got to have dinner with Edsel Ford 5 years consecutively at the year end company banquet. We raised two wonderful children. Brandy won Junior Miss in Dothan, Al and went to Univ. of Alabama. She was a Bama cheerleader for 3 years giving it up her fourth year to graduate in four years cum laude. Brian was a lefty pitcher at Hoover High School in Birmingham, Al area. He went 9-0 his senior and still holds the record with most consecutive wins without a loss. He played Junior College baseball and declined offers to play for four year schools beyond that. Juanita was a very successful coach at Sylvan Hills Junior High School from 1974-1984 when Ford transferred us to Detroit. We have enjoyed a very good life working hard and enjoying some success along the way. Retirement is great. I am golfing, duck hunting, fishing and walking. |

I serve them as a Project Engineer and I am a stock holder with the company as well. I have been with them for almost 13 years now. | Most memorable moments as a Phi Sig: I have several memories but the ones that stick out the most are related to trips I took with other brothers. But the one that sticks out the most is a trip to St. Louis. We were having a conclave in St. Louis and because of work I was not able to leave with the three other brothers (John Boatman, Sammy Patrick and Gerry Goodnight) who left the night before. The plan was for me to leave after work and drive up by myself. I received a call in the afternoon from English Cook and Brad Youngblood asking if I wanted company on the trip. Of course I said yes and was now really looking forward to trip. When I got home from work, I noticed Shane Avey's Bronco was in the driveway. Shane and Glen Woiteshek was jealous that English and Brad were going and decided they would skip work too and join us. Shane even said he would drive. So I went from having to drive to St. Louis by myself to having a vehicle full of brothers that I was now a passenger in. Needless to say we had a great time. |
